Last year, our company participated in two Datacentre Strategics (DCS) conference-cum-exhibitions held at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru, on 6th November, and again at The Leela Palace Kempinski, Gurgaon, on 3rd December, 2009.

In view of the good response from visitors to these shows, APW President Systems is planning to continue participation (as a silver sponsor) in the DCS conference-cum-exhibitions this year, starting with Mumbai (15th to 17th April) and followed by Hyderabad (21st May), Bengaluru (28th and 29th October) and Delhi (11th and 12th November).

Datacentre Strategics has gained a reputation as a leading data center knowledge and networking forum, produced by technical experts for industry professionals. The conference series is for CIOs and IT professionals to meet and exchange global and local knowledge and to inform, educate and strategise.

The President Stall, DCS Gurgaon, 2009 The President Stall, DCS Bengaluru, 2009

Taking an active part in the exhibitions, APW President will be presenting its latest range of leading edge Thermal Management Solutions.

Last year, APW President introduced the liquid-cooled RDHx (Rear Door Heat Exchanger) technology from Coolcentric to the Indian market. RDHX has been rated as the best in class solution for high density thermal management for data center environments. This innovative technology involves heat exchangers that are coupled on the rear of IT racks.

“The heat exchangers directly cool exhaust air from computer equipment before it reenters the data center operating environment, and they are beneficial for both legacy data centers – as well as new ones,” says Manish Bhatnagar, Vice President – Cooling Solutions Division.

“The special low-resistance fin and tube heat exchangers have no fans, moving parts or electrical connections, so the technology reduces or eliminates unnecessary fan power which reduces cooling unit energy consumption by up to 90 percent. It is an open cooling architecture that can be added to IT racks or equipment without any operational impact, and it can be deployed in both raised- and non-raised-floor data centers. Data center cooling costs are reduced dramatically, up to 60 percent by lowering energy consumption and space requirements!” he adds.

The RDHx solution is being used in hundreds of data centers, hosting facilities and enterprises worldwide, including IBM, NASA and Syracuse University.

Last year, among other solutions on display were the InfraSolution Smart Card Handle for intelligent rack level access control.

In 2009, the DCS events drew visitors (over 200 DC professionals and vendors) from all over India and speakers from abroad. This year, response to the events from IT and data center professionals is expected to improve further with the economy showing signs of complete revival.

APW President Systems, the pioneer in enclosure systems (which play a vital role in telecom, IT and electronics infrastructure), participated in the Datacentre Greentech and Datacentre Strategics Conference and Expo, 2009, on 7th and 8th May, 2009, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai.

Datacentre Strategics is Asia Pacific’s leading data centre knowledge and networking forum, produced by technical experts for industry professionals. The conference series is for CIOs and IT professionals to share global and local knowledge and to inform, educate and strategise.

APW President presented its range of Thermal Management Solutions, under the banner of “Innovative Solutions for Evergreen Datacenters”.

“There are many ingenious ways to improve thermal management and power efficiency through various innovations. We have several such solutions developed in-house in the last few years. For example, the recently introduced COOL WAY, our cold aisle containment system, provides optimally conditioned air to an enclosed cold aisle which ensures that the thermal variations within the data centre do not impact on the volume of cold air delivered to the front of the IT equipment,” said S. Venkatraman, Vice President – Enclosure Solutions & Technical Services.

“Another innovation is the CoolRack HD, an enclosure system which embodies a new concept in thermal management. It is specifically tailored to the precision cooling requirements of data centres where the deployment of equipment like blade servers generates high heat loads that require intensive rack-level cooling,” he added.

With energy efficiency and reduction of operational costs becoming a critical business goal, the ‘green’ initiatives will focus on helping DC managers to reduce the cost of data centre operations through planning and modeling, through sensitive and precise monitoring of in-rack parameters, and through means to take charge of in-band or even out-of-band situations from remote consoles.

The conference had participation from many DC professionals and vendors.

Unite Technologies Ltd, a market leader in data center integration technology has today announced a strategic partnership with APW President Systems, a provider of data center infrastructure, to distribute its data center monitoring and management solutions across the Middle East Region.
