APW President Systems (President), the pioneer in enclosure systems (which play a vital role in data centers in the telecom, IT/ITES and electronics infrastructure segments), has entered into a business agreement with the US-based Technology Connection, a leading provider of innovative approaches to solving high-density data center infrastructure challenges. The agreement is intended to distribute a range of advanced thermal management solutions from Technology Connection to meet the rising demands of data center customers in India. The agreement was signed in the US on 31st October, 2009, by Steve Howell, CEO, Technology Connection and Pramod Agashe, COO at APW President Systems.

The IT industry worldwide faces data center cooling challenges that transcend short-term solutions. Technological advancements have led to spiraling energy consumption that cannot be sustained. Industry experts have begun to rethink the way in which cooling is achieved, and that shift in perspective centers on expanding humidity/temperature ranges and the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to understand thermal mapping and airflow.

According to Steven Howell, “With expertise and intellectual property in thermal mapping and airflow management, we find a lot of synergy in working with President, a leader and pioneer in the data center infrastructure domain. We are confident that Technology Connection’s data center energy mapping systems, backed by President’s professional teams of technical and sales personnel spread over a country-wide network will be able to help data center managers in India dramatically reduce power consumption.”

“The successes achieved by Technology Connection with applied CFD studies in data centers are second to none throughout the cooling industry. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the benefits of CFD in our growing portfolio of thermal management solutions. With the energy savings from techniques such as CFD analysis, our data center customers can expect a full return on investment in less than 18 months, and pure savings thereafter,” said S. Venkatraman, Vice President – Enclosure Solutions and Technical Services, APW President.

“The FlowLogix system from Technology Connection is an innovative combination of CFD modeling, airflow management and professional services to manage the airflow in mission critical data centers and distribute it to the heat load. In all cases this is accomplished without the installation of any additional computer room air conditioners (CRACs),” said Manish Bhatnagar, Vice President – Cooling Solutions Division, at APW President.
