APW President Systems Limited began in 1981 as President Systems, a small scale partnership firm. In the first 3 years the company introduced Card Frames (sub-racks), 19" Floor Standing cabinets, Table Racks, Instrument Cases, and a whole host of accessories for each of these product groups. These were all made to the 19" standard and conformed to the DIN 41494 specification. Owing to the high quality levels achieved, design style, precision and workmanship, the "President" range of products quickly caught on and the company grew rapidly.

The original partnership company was converted into a private limited company in the mid 80’s. A decade later, following sustained growth, a joint venture was formed with Vero Electronics of UK, a leading name in the 19” industry. This resulted in the formation of a new company - Vero President Systems Ltd. which became a public limited company in 1996. Two years later Vero Electronics was bought over by APW (Applied Power Inc.) of the US consequent to which the name Vero President Systems Ltd changed to APW President Systems Ltd.
