Enclosure Security Access

Access control is the ability to permit or deny a particular resource by a particular entity.

In current layouts, physical access control to datacenters is at the entrance to the datacenter, where banks of enclosures are deployed in some formal way.

As each enclosure or rack houses critical equipment and applications, it should be considered as a ‘mini datacenter’ and appropriate physical security methods should be adopted to secure access to it.

Keypad

  • 5×2 matrix type
  • Powered directly from keypad port on monitoring and control device
  • Supplied with 2m ribbon cable with 450mm of plastic flexible conduit for protection within the cabinet

Handle

An electronic locking swing handle with blue/red LED status indicator provides intelligent local and remote functionality of a manual latching system with the added benefit of electronic locking for access control.

The modular design accommodates single or multi-point latching with a low power, gear motor driven lock mechanism and high security DIN lock manual override. The lock directly integrates with industry standard rack monitoring / access control systems. Integrated sensors detect lock and latch status for network control, monitoring and alarm functions.
