Serial Console Management

As the number of IT and network assets increases in a growing data center, it is no longer practical to have one management station connected to each console port. Secure, consolidated access to every managed device from a single view is needed.

A console server allows IT and network managers to conveniently, securely and remotely access and manage all
console ports in a data center at anytime, from anywhere in the world.

A console server has multiple RS-232 serial lines for connection to the console ports and at least one Ethernet
LAN port for connection to the network. It provides connectivity for easy, fast and convenient access. A console
server includes security to keep intruders out.

Console servers connect to virtually all equipment in the data center. Serial console ports can be used not only
for local management but also for convenient, secure and reliable remote network management.
